Proper maintenance of the brakes with regular adjustment of the shoes and care of the magnets is also important. It also needs to have a good earth return, not just an earth to the body. It’s important the wiring is heavy enough to allow the power to run through to the trailer.

When adjusted correctly, the controller allows the driver to slow the combined tow vehicle and trailer just as smoothly as an uncoupled tow vehicle. This allows the trailer brakes to come on automatically when the vehicle’s brakes are applied. A heavy duty circuit fed through the trailers connecting plug and socket then triggers the trailers brakes. When the towing vehicle’s stop lights are activated, power feeds into the electric brake controller. The trailer or caravan brakes will not work unless you have an Electric brake controller in your car. How do Electric Brakes & Electric Brake Controllers work? On the caravan or trailer you have drum brakes – pretty much the same as drum brakes in a car – Check out this youtube video for a great explanation. Under these circumstances, the brakes must remain applied for at least 15 minutes. The brake system must cause an immediate application of the trailer brakes in the event of the trailer becoming detached from the towing vehicle. Yes – must be fitted with an efficient brake system must have brakes operating on all wheels Yes – must be fitted with an efficient brake system considered to have brakes operating on the wheels of at least one axel It is also a legal requirement that all caravans, trailers and floats exceeding 2000kg (GTM) are fitted with an efficient braking system on all wheels.Įlectric brakes are the most common form of an “efficient braking system” and come standard on most camper trailers and caravans. Regulations state that trailers which weigh 750kg GTM* or less AND have a single axle will not require a braking system.Īnything – including trailers, horse floats, boat & trailers and caravans, which exceed the 750kg GTM limit legally require having an efficient braking system on at least one axle. We are going to run through some frequently asked questions about electric brakes and electric brake controllers.

Often these customers question why they would install electric brakes or electric brake controllers if legally they aren’t required. There are so many articles out there about the legal requirements of electric brake controllers, but we often have customers whose trailer or caravan might be just under the legal limit.

So my desire to figure out more about this drum software is more about the geeky figuring out part, not as much about needing to unlock the functionality. If you have just purchased a caravan that has electric brakes you might be wondering what are electric brakes, what is an electric brake controller or even wondering if you need electric brakes. This a quick and simple solution sometimes, and once in a while I like to change my routine.

I do need to clarify that I use Addictive Drums for almost all of my drum needs. But about the sync issues.mine is synced with my start and stop. Ok, I understand all of the routing stuff now. JamStix, EZD, BFD, Cakewalk Session, all sync with start/stop, but this doesn't. I searched for a sync option, such as AD1 and AD2 have, but haven't found it. The module isn't syncing with the start/stop in Reaper for me. The cymbals and everything else are already grouped into out-1 by default upon loading MT-Drums, only slightly panned L to R, so essentially any phase issues would already have been worked out by the developer. I did test the output in mono and didn't notice any phasey jet-sound stuff going on. The hard panning L/R is within the MT-Drums mixer itself in order to separate each individual piece.

Meaning keeping the recorded output as MIDI instead of audio? Just explode the full MT-Drums MIDI output by note-row without changing the output.

Not sure what you mean by explode each item to new one-channel items, though. I put the toms on 4 (that's the way I have EZDrummer set up - toms on 1 stereo track), the ride and bell on 5, crash left on 6, crash right on 7 and china on 8. Pan accordingly on the TCP.Ĭool! I did a small variation though. Jeff: I just tried this for separating the 13 components, using only 7 of the 8 outs, by combining them in pairs and hard panning L/R within each pair.Īfter recording, simply explode each item to new one-channel items, where they will now be in mono. is there any way to get it to start/stop in sync? Nice drum VSTi - crisp clean sounds - low CPU (>.2% here!) - uncomplicated, easy to use GUI.ĭoesn't sync up with the DAW, though (although it does pick up the BPM).
